From Amanda Homans, Decisive Farming Agronomist.
There have been some reports of Bertha Armyworms reaching threshold levels on the prairies. Canola growers should be keeping an eye out on their fields monitoring the populations of these insects. Bertha Armyworms favor hot and dry weather. When scouting your fields, the best time of day is in the early evening.
For the most current, and up-to-date weekly counts of Bertha Armyworms, Ropin the web (Agriculture and Rural Development) they have an online map of the survey results. Click the below link to see the levels near you.
