December 19 marked the first stop of the Decisive Farming Curling Tour, a program that promotes curling in communities across Saskatchewan, engaging the province’s youth, both in the schools and on the ice. The Prince Albert Golf & Curling Club was the first stop along the way:
Team Laycock describes the event as “a great day in Prince Albert; we started the day with a short talk to the kids about good work ethic and hard work, we then proceeded to a fun on-ice clinic with the kids and ended with pizza, autographs, and photos with our championship medals! It is fun to give back to the sport we love! Please check out our website in the next couple days for photos of the day in Prince Albert!”
Additionally, the Saskatchewan Curling Association announced on December 18, that Team Laycock has qualified for the 2012 Provincial Tankard (Provincial Championship) through the Canadian Team Ranking System birth. They are the #1 ranked team in Saskatchewan and have earned a direct spot to provincials, bypassing playdowns!
To kick off the New Year, Team Laycock will be competing in their 10th event of the season in Perth, Scotland; the “Mecure Perth Masters.” We wish the team good luck in Scotland and we’re looking forward to seeing the team back in Saskatchewan at the Crop Production Show in Saskatoon, Jan 7-10. Stop by the Decisive Farming booth D116 on Jan 9-10 to catch up with members of team and enter your name to win a Decisive Farming curling brush, signed by Team Laycock.
