There are a couple of interesting developments in the farm equipment world. Buhler Industries, which has the brand names Versatile and Farm King and a manufacturing plant in Winnipeg, has purchased the assets of Ezee-On Manufacturing. Ezee-On is based in Vegreville, Alberta and builds air drills and carts, offset and tandem discs, and a post driver. The purchase price is $14.5 million. Buhler says it is continuing its plan to become a full-line equipment manufacturer. Meanwhile, the consolidation of farm equipment dealerships is continuing. Rocky Mountain Dealerships has entered into an agreement to purchase J & B Equipment, the Case IH dealership in Kindersley. The acquisition is expected to close on April 1. Rocky Mountain Dealerships is one of the country’s largest agriculture and construction company dealership networks. With the purchase of J & B, they will have 38 branches throughout Western Canada. The dealerships are run under the brand names of Hammer Equipment, Hi-Way Service and Miller Equipment. Back in January, Rocky completed the acquisition of a Case IH dealership with locations in Westlock, Vegreville and Barrhead, Alberta.
