At the Transport Industry Conference at the University of Manitoba, the deputy minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada said that the federal government is determined to introduce and pass legislation that will end the Canadian Wheat Board’s monopoly this fall.

ADM Canada, the CWB’s largest customer, has concerns about future availability of wheat, especially since that cannot stop buying wheat for their flour mills.  Some say it will be fine, where others say it will be unclear how it will work for them.  Regardless of the outcome, it will be a challenge, but a huge opportunity.
