Rolling Hills Area Crop Update

With hot windy temperatures the last couple of days the stress that was in the fields is now very visible. Partly flooded areas are turning from lime green to yellow and brown and the unevenness in the crops are more pronounced than they have appeared in the last few weeks. If anything went wrong in planting this year it is really showing up now…

Using foliar nutrients will help get the plants growing. Modest root systems due to high spring moisture is making soil nutrients difficult to get into the plant. A foliar application will give the plant a kick start. This will help to make the most of the areas that are growing well and with the next week of warm weather in the forecast, hopefully push crops to where they need to be.
