Decisive Farming Promotes Curling in Saskatchewan

With the beginning of the 2012-13 curling season just around the corner, Team Laycock (Saskatchewan’s #1 ranked team) and their new title sponsor Decisive Farming are focused on bringing a championship men’s curling team back to the wheat province.

Decisive Farming will be giving Team Laycock the opportunity to train and compete with the top teams in the world for the upcoming 2012-2013 season. “With their help, we believe our team can once again put Saskatchewan men’s curling on the map, and bring home a Tim Horton’s Brier championship,” says the team’s third, Kirk Muyres.

The newly formed partnership with Decisive Farming also includes a plan to promote the sport in communities across Saskatchewan. During the 2012-2013 curling season, Team Laycock will bring “The Decisive Farming Curling Tour” to communities across Saskatchewan, engaging the province’s youth, both in the schools and on the ice.

“Curling has always been an important part of the communities where we live and work,” says Remi Schmaltz, general manager of Decisive Farming. “The Decisive Farming Curling Tour is about celebrating our heritage and creating the next generation of champions.”

Together, Team Laycock and Decisive Farming hope to bring excellence back to Saskatchewan curling, as well as grow the sport at the grassroots level.
