Many businesses, including agricultural businesses are interested in exporting to the United States, but they don’t know how to get started. Or maybe they’ve tried crossing the border only to run into problems. On October 21 and 22, Trade Team Saskatchewan is leading a two-day Thinning the Border event designed for businesses with little or no exporting experience. Participants leave Regina the morning of October 21, overnight in Minot and return to Regina the following evening. The trip includes tours of warehouses and transportation facilities and meetings with export experts including trade commissioners and customs brokers. Any company or individual thinking about exporting to the U.S. should fine the trip valuable. Round-trip transportation, one night accommodation in Minot and most of your meals are included for a cost of $179 plus GST. Trade Team Saskatchewan is a network of organizations involved in export development, including Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada and the Saskatchewan Ministry of Agriculture. Space is limited in this Thinning the Border educational trade mission. If you’re interested, call Pat Rediger at 306-522-9326. I’m Kevin Hursh.
